Marriott has a huge presence in Dubai and UAE, and they recently debuted their brand “Delta Hotels” in Dubai in Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) on September 1, 2019. Note: This is a rebrand and management change from the existing Ramada Plaza JBR, Dubai (Wyndham).

Delta Hotels – Location in Dubai

Delta Hotels Jumeirah Beach is located in the heart of JBR in the Bahar residences. It is a few steps away from the beach, and is also a quick walk away from the Dubai Marina Walk and Dubai Marina Mall. It is accesible to the Dubai Tram which then connects to the Dubai Metro. This hotel is about 35-40 minutes away from both airports in Dubai – DXB and DWC (plan ahead during rush hour traffic on weekdays). This hotel is also located to 2 other Marriotts in the vicinity – Sheraton JBR and The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai.

Room Types, Rates and Marriott Bonvoy Points

The hotel has 45 floors and 360 rooms, and also 3 meeting rooms with 1,560 sq. ft of meeting space. This hotel opened as a whopping Category 6 Marriott Hotel, which is redeemable at 50,000 Points as a standard redemption (40K off-peak, and 60K peak pricing).

The rates for a Standard Room range between a base price of AED 233 – AED 550 (USD 65 – USD 150), and AED 1247 (USD 339) around New Years. If you value a Marriott Point at $0.8c/point (see The Points Guy’s monthly valuations), 50K points would translate to $400, which is a bad redemption given the cash value is relatively much lower.

Delta Hotels, Dubai – Summary

The Delta Hotel Jumeirah Beach is a nice addition to the Marriott Portfolio in Dubai. As of now, the cash rates are very competitive compared to the points redemption. In summer 2020, the cash rates are as low as AED 214 per night.
